Praxis invests in strong communities, supporting well-known, faith-based Volunteers of America

Community development investing with Praxis Mutual Funds® gives shareholders the opportunity to invest in better neighborhoods. Through Calvert Foundation Community Investment Notes, Praxis supports nonprofits and community organizations, such as faith-based Volunteers of America.

The funds from the investments help the organization purchase properties and convert them into safe, high-quality affordable housing for low- and moderate-income seniors and families.

Founded over a century ago, Volunteers of America is one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive human services organizations, serving more than 2 million vulnerable and underserved individuals in the U.S. and Puerto Rico each year. The organization assists veterans, at-risk youths, the elderly, men and women returning form prison, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions.

“By investing in community development organizations, Praxis supports people working hard to make changes and improve lives,” said Mark Regier, Praxis Director of Sales and Everence Vice President of Stewardship Investing. “We want to help make a difference by funding neighbors working together to build stronger communities.”

Praxis has committed approximately 1 percent of each of its funds to benefit neighborhoods and individuals through investments with Calvert Foundation, a national impact-investing leader that helps people around the world through community development financing.
