Praxis Mutual Funds names Chad Horning as new President

Fund family thanks outgoing President, David Gautsche, for years of service

Chad M. Horning, Chief Investment Officer for Everence, has been named the new President for the company’s mutual fund family, Praxis Mutual Funds. Ken Hochstetler, Everence President and Chief Executive Officer, made the announcement on March 10, 2015, on behalf of the Praxis Mutual Funds Board of Trustees.

In addition, Horning will serve as Senior Vice President for Everence, reflecting his responsibility for the company’s financial products and operations.

“Chad’s expertise has been critical to our successful management of Everence investment and asset management products and services,” said Hochstetler. “Adding this new role as President of Praxis Mutual Funds will bring his experience to bear on our goal to expand Praxis services to individuals and organizations.

Hochstetler added that David C. Gautsche, outgoing President of Praxis Mutual Funds, is stepping down to become President and Chief Executive Officer of Goodville Mutual Casualty Company in Pennsylvania.

“During his tenure, David led Praxis Mutual Funds through the recent recession, and helped the fund family weather the storm,” Hochstetler noted. “We wish him well as he makes this transition, and thank him for his years of service with Everence and Praxis Mutual Funds.”

Horning joined Everence in 1999, serving as an Equity Analyst. In addition to his role as Chief Investment Officer, he also serves as Co-Portfolio Manager for the Praxis Value Index Fund, Praxis Growth Index Fund and Praxis Genesis Portfolios.

Before joining Everence, Horning was an economic analyst for DevTech Systems, an international consulting firm in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of Goshen College (Indiana) and earned his master’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland. Horning earned his Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2001. He lives in Goshen with his wife, Michelle, and two children.
