Praxis Mutual funds® recently participated in the second annual Christian Investment Summit. The Summit, planned and hosted by the Christian Investment Forum, was held in Asheville, N.C., at The Billy Graham Training Center: The Cove. Praxis along with other CIF member organizations; including Timothy Plan, Eventide and Guidestone; sponsored this conference to bring financial advisors and institutional investors together to discuss how faith values can be integrated into the investment process.
Conference sessions included impact investing for faith-based investors, faith-based screening, shareholder advocacy and understanding rating systems. Both Mark Regier, Praxis Vice President of Stewardship Investing, and Chad Horning, President of Praxis Mutual Funds, participated in breakout panels, while National Sales Consultants Jerry Gray and Josh Bean shared honey and fund knowledge at the Praxis booth.
The highlight of the conference was the new Explore Asheville evening where conference sponsors planned unique evening events to provide participants a local experience. Praxis sponsored an event called The Sweet Taste of Impact: Asheville. We had an in-depth experience learning how non-profits like Green Opportunities, Southside Kitchen Catering, Asheville Self-Help Credit Union and others were positively impacting low-income individuals in their community. And we enjoyed the flavors of a five-course, African-inspired tasting menu, too!
We were pleased to once again sponsor the annual CIF Summit, presenting an opportunity to deepen advisor relationships, explore the opportunities of faith-based investing, and experiencing God’s beautiful nature and even a few bear sightings.
The 2019 CIF Summit is scheduled for August 14-16, 2019. We hope to see many of you there.
